MEET THE TEAM
Frank R. Coppola, III
Founder
f.coppola@coppolabrothersllc.com
Frank R. Coppola, III is a graduate of Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania with a degree in Business Management. He enjoyed a nine-year successful career as a Commodities and Equities Trader with a Series 7,55, & 63 certification. Coppola intended to remain on Wall Street; however, he literally got stressed out of the grind. The “entrepreneurial spirit” kicked in and he decided to venture into construction. Coppola Brothers LLC was born 2015. The Coppola brothers are Frank and Miranda Coppola’s sons; Mitchell and Joseph Coppola (Frank does not have a brother).
Frank Coppola founded the American Tae Kwon Do Academy (ATKDA) in 1990, which is still thriving today. Frank is currently a 7th Degree Black Belt having continuously trained since 1986. He has proudly promoted 13 students to the rank of 5th Degree! Each one has been with him for over 20 years. He has also promoted over 206 people to the rank of First Degree and has taught at the Somerset Hills YMCA since 1993.
The secret weapon to Coppola Brothers’ success has been an extensive vetting process by Frank’s yellow Labrador retriever, Bentley. Simply put, if Bentley doesn’t like you, then Coppola Brothers is not the contractor for you. Bentley, with a single paw, transformed the company culture to embrace “dog friendly people”. Frank or Bentley would be happy to elaborate on this in person. Frank’s dog moments happen every day when Bentley reminds him TODAY is the best day ever!

Christopher J. Cole
Partner
Christopher J. Cole is a co-owner of Coppola Brothers LLC, where he leads the Integrated Development Services Division. Partnering with Frank Coppola and Greg Stouffer, the team is transforming the firm from traditional owner’s representation into a full-spectrum development platform. The partnership presently focuses on general partner roles for select projects, while defining a strategic path toward serving as managing limited partner, identifying and managing opportunities for institutional capital partners, including innovative decentralized financial structures.
With three decades of hands-on real estate development experience, Chris specializes in complex ground-up and redevelopment projects spanning greenfield sites to dense urban infill. He has delivered more than $5 billion in total project value across domestic and international markets, leading residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments through every phase: conceptualization and optimization, land assemblage, design, entitlement, capitalization, operations, marketing, and sales. His integrated practice is strengthened by his serial start-up experience and decades of related organizational leadership in real estate investment and sophisticated capital structures.
Chris began his career as a Research Fellow to the Special Advisor for Eastern European Affairs at NATO Headquarters, where strategic planning across Central & Eastern Europe and Central Asia deepened his appreciation for traditional architecture and timeless urbanism. Returning to the U.S., he spent eight years in corporate real estate with The Zimmer Companies, Grubb & Ellis, and Trammell Crow Company, executing sophisticated transactions that leveraged his transactional, capitalization, planning, design, and legal background.
Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, Chris co-founded New Urban Builders, directing development, sales, marketing, and project management for residentially led, mixed-use New Urbanist communities. He later established C3 Development, a consultancy renowned for its proprietary Project Conceptualization & Optimization Process—now a cornerstone of Coppola Brothers—that harmonizes market demand, design excellence, constructability, and cost. C3 served as strategic partner on several globally recognized new towns and their town centers.
During the Great Recession, Chris founded Applied Analytics, a debt fund that used predictive analytics to acquire and resolve distressed mortgage debt secured by high-quality real estate. As markets recovered, he was recruited to build Action Pact Development, guiding the firm through more than $1 billion in innovative senior-living projects over a decade.
Most recently, Chris founded and led Snake River Development for multigenerational family office BMB Investments, growing their real estate holdings by over $400 million in five years. Key achievements included entitling and disposing of a 1,000-acre mixed-use master-planned community in North Carolina and delivering two build-to-rent townhome communities in partnership with Lennar Homes.
Chris brings a rare combination of visionary project ideation, disciplined financial underwriting, creative capitalization strategies, and rigorous execution to every endeavor.
A devoted father of three, Chris resides in Winston-Salem, North Carolina with his wife Sarah and their youngest daughter, Olive. His older children, Carson (pursuing an MBA at Kansas State University) and Lily (studying social work at the University of Kansas), keep the family proudly connected to America’s heartland. In his limited free time, Chris enjoys cycling, exploring historic towns, beach escapes, international travel, and a good book.

Chad Montalvo
Chief of Staff / Senior Project Manager
Chad has over 20 years of experience in the construction trades. His father was a general contractor and it was his enthusiasm and pride in his work that led Chad to follow in his footsteps. Some of Chad’s earliest memories are of driving with his dad while he pointed out houses his father had built in different neighborhoods. By age 14, Chad decided he wanted to emulate his father and began working with him as often as possible.
Chad’s true passion has been residential construction. He enjoys the feeling of satisfaction you get when making someone’s dream come true and creating something with your hands is a feeling unlike any other. After eight years with Jarow Construction, Chad left to form his own company. With permission and encouragement from his father, Chad used his father’s business name, R. Montalvo Home Improvements, as a tribute and acknowledgement for all that he taught him.
Shortly after that time, Chad received a call from a general contractor that was looking for someone to come and install trim for him on a large renovation project; on this job he met Frank Coppola. It immediately became apparent to Chad that they both stood for the same values; commitment and quality of work. Like any profession, there are areas you enjoy better than others. Chad realized he enjoyed the production/hands on, logistical, problem solving side of the construction trade. Chad had a conversation with Frank that led to a clear role for him at Coppola Brothers. This move freed up Frank to go back to the office and handle the back-end work that he loved and Chad would work in the field and handle the logistical and production work.
Chad thrives in his role as Coppola Brothers. Chad handles, with the help of his Site Supervisors, the day-to-day on-job tasks, logistics, estimating and change orders, quality control, official correspondence, trade management, scheduling and any production tasks. Chad and his wife Liz moved from New Jersey to North Carolina in 2019 as the company expands into the North Carolina market.
Chad has a dog named Alo (pronounced Al-lew). Her name means to support, love, and cherish in Latin. Alo is a rescue dog and it was love at first sight when he saw her. She has gone to work with Chad every day since then. One day Chad expects to turn around and see her holding a hammer. Together she and “no-no bad dog” (Bentley), are the company mascots. If you walk on the job and see either dog, you can expect to find their respective human not far behind.

Miranda Coppola
Company Officer
Miranda was born and raised in the Netherlands where she got a degree in Economic Marketing. She came to the United States in 1992 as an Au-pair for a family in Bridgewater, New Jersey. Four years later she met her now favorite husband Frank and they’ve been married since 1997. Coppola Brother LLC is named after their two sons, Mitchell and Joseph. Once the children were older and each developed their own personalities, Frank and Miranda decided to redesign their company logo. Mitchell, their oldest, is the hammer, he does everything his own, hard way. Joseph is the saw, he’s very sharp.
Miranda taught preschool until her children were born. However, her love for teaching young children never stopped. One of her passions is Tae Kwon Do. She and Frank own a martial arts school called the “American Tae Kwon Do Academy”. In 1998, she decided to start a tots program for martial arts at the Somerset Hills YMCA in Basking Ridge, New Jersey where Frank has been teaching since 1993.
Another one of Miranda’s passions is teaching Jazzercise, she has been a certified instructor at Jazzercise Incorporated since 2009 where she teaches a couple of classes a week. She also loves going on camping trips with her family, including her dog “no-no-baddog” aka Bentley. A favorite dog memory is Bentley barking at the buffaloes on a camping trip out West!
Miranda loves working at Coppola Brothers LLC, not only because it’s her company but she loves to spend time with the family and friends that work with her!

Mitchell Coppola
Data Entry - "Rain Man"
Mitchell Coppola is the oldest son of Frank and Miranda. Mitchell is young, talented and eager to work with his hands. Frank refers to Mitchell as being “Rain man smart”. From an early age it was noticed Mitchell had an incredible brain through his display of his mechanically inclined thought process. Mitchell is an extremely hard worker, who enjoys and takes pride in his work.
The Coppola Brothers hammer and saw logo is based off of Mitchell and his brother Joseph. Mitchell is the hammer; strong, hard and straight to the punch to get the job done. Joseph is the saw; smart, accurate and articulate.
At 16 Mitchell completed his Eagle Scout project, in total raising over seventeen thousand dollars to build a scale replica of the West Point Indoor Obstacle Course Test. This was an incredible display of skill and commitment at such a young age. His talent in construction since the project has grown exponentially.
After graduating high school, Mitchell instantly jumped straight into working for Coppola Brothers. When Frank and Miranda moved to Florida, Mitchell continued to be a part of Coppola Brothers Florida chapter where he now is a Site Supervisor alongside Kate. Mitchell aspires to one day work alongside his Father to learn how to operate the company so he may one day take over.
Mitchell is extremely family oriented. He holds strong relationships with Cindy, Frank, Miranda, Joseph and Bentley. Before Bentley, Mitchell’s best friend was Elijah “Lala” a white German shepherd who sadly has passed away, but still holds a strong place in Mitchell’s heart. Elijah and Mitchell grew up together spending most of their time outdoors.
