2017 Awards of Excellence Best Residential Addition/Alteration $150-250k

Metropolitan Builders and Contractors Association of New Jersey

Coppola Brothers LLC was referred by prominent architect Mario Barone to the board of directors of the Shrimataji Church, to restore the house of the founder Nirmala Srivastava.  After her death in 2011, the house fell into disrepair and was ransacked by SEVEN unqualified contractors.  Coppola Brothers won an award for restoring the exterior of the house in 2016, and in 2017 turned their efforts to the interior.

The scope of work included bringing all the electric up to code, a complete new life-safety system, HVAC refurbishing, spray foam insulation in the crawlspace and damaged areas throughout the house, and extensive floor and intricate woodwork refinishing. The highlight of the job was creating custom plaster molds to recreate and copy existing plaster work throughout the house.  This tedious work restored the house to all its glory and is allowing the Church to maintain the shrine for their founder Mataji Shri Nirmala Devi (Nirmala Srivastava) and allows the Church to hold Sahaja Yoga sessions.

Coppola Brothers LLC successfully managed the project and navigated communication between church members, the church board, architects and inspectors.  This alone was as challenging as the physical project itself. Coppola Brothers is proud to have been able, over the course of two years to bring the home of this important property for the enjoyment of thousands of church members.
